A Powerful And Refined Style

Vacheron Constantin reinterpreted one of its iconic collections, Overseas. This ‘panda-type’ aesthetic principle is inspired by 1960s watches dedicated to motorsports. The light/dark contrast guarantees enhanced visibility and accentuates the indications of chronograph. New model equipped with self-winding Calibre 5200 which created in a spirit of travel, elegance and practicality.

The Overseas black dial model comes in two versions: Self-winding three-hand watch, and a chronograph. For the latter, Vacheron Constantin has focused on legibility by choosing a silver-toned color for its three additional counters. Models are offered with steel bracelets, rubber or alligator straps.

A Shining New Addition To The Watchmaking Galaxy

The Fine Watchmaking firmament welcomes a bright new star: the unique twin-dial
Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600 combines astronomy and the watchmaking art in a celestial white gold composition. Twenty-three essentially astronomical complications appear on the front and back dials of the watch, providing a reading of time in three modes – civil, solar and sidereal – each driven by its own gear train. Embodying the height of technical sophistication, its new fully integrated 514-part caliber measures a mere 8.7 mm thick, while six barrels guarantee three full weeks of autonomy.

Pursuing the path traced by the majestic Reference 57260 – the world’s most complicated watch equipped with 57 complications created for the 260th anniversary of the Manufacture – Vacheron Constantin presented Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600. Featuring an all-new construction, this mechanical masterpiece follows in the eminent wake of a unique creation representing a milestone in the history of mechanical horology. Five years of development starting from a blank page, a dedicated master-watchmaker, along with two years of design, have given life to the one-of-a-kind Les Cabinotiers Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication 3600, displaying 23 complications on its twin dials. This Haute Horlogerie ‘heavenly phenomenon’ is one of the most complex ever made and heir to a proud lineage of astronomical timepieces. Astronomy, the study of celestial objects, is closely bound up with horology. The former seeks to explain the origins, evolution and properties of heavenly bodies. The latter strives to capture and mechanically express the course of time and its perpetual dance with the stars – a challenge successfully met in this watch providing a combined display of civil, solar and sidereal times by means of three separate gear trains.

An Avant-Garde Spirit

In 1912, seeking to make a clean break with the rounded shapes of pocket watches and display a decidedly avant-garde spirit, Vacheron Constantin became one of the first watch manufacturers to offer barrel-shaped or ‘tonneau’ cases. This shape became iconic right from its first appearance, widely appealing to both men and women. Over the past century, it has come to be associated with the most prestigious horological complications, as notably interpreted in the Malte collection.

Three pink or white gold models assert their style through an understated approach focused firmly on essentials: reading off time as a daily companion and a night-time confidant. The pure, refined and supremely classic lines are imbued with a delightfully modern touch and radiate a particularly sensual aura when accentuated by sparkling diamonds.

The new Malte small models come in a curving 28.30 x 38.75 mm case making a perfect fit on the daintiest wrists and housing a mechanical hand-wound movement, Calibre 1400. Developed and crafted by Vacheron Contantin, the latter may be admired through a transparent tonneau-shaped case-back echoing the shape of the case. A strap in Mississipiensis alligator leather or satin prolongs the feminine appeal of this model right the way through to the diamond-set or non-set half Maltese Cross-shaped pin buckle.
